The Rt Rev Thomas Clayton Twitchell, DD (1884–1947) was an eminent ^[1] Anglican priest in the 20th century ^[2]. He was educated at King’s College London^[3] and ordained in 1889.^[4]. His first posts were curacies at St George’s, Barrow-in-Furness^[5] and St Peter’s, Cranley Gardens.^[6] From 1903 to 1908 he was Vicar of All Hallows East India Docks^[7][8] when he was appointed Bishop of Polynesia^[9][10] a post he held for 13 years. On his return to England he was Rector of St Margaret, Buxted^[11][12] and then of St Peter’s Selsey^[13][14]. A Fellow of King’s College, London he died on 9 October 1947.^[15]
