The Rt Rev Thomas Clayton Twitchell, DD (1884–1947) was an eminent [1] Anglican priest in the 20th century [2]. He was educated at King’s College London[3] and ordained in 1889.[4]. His first posts were curacies at St George’s, Barrow-in-Furness[5] and St Peter’s, Cranley Gardens.[6] From 1903 to 1908 he was Vicar of All Hallows East India Docks[7][8] when he was appointed Bishop of Polynesia[9][10] a post he held for 13 years. On his return to England he was Rector of St Margaret, Buxted[11][12] and then of St Peter’s Selsey[13][14]. A Fellow of King’s College, London he died on 9 October 1947.[15]
