Availability Dublin Official website http://www.city.ie City 7[1] is a new channel which celebrates the best in Eastern European culture in Ireland. The channel which launches in the first quarter of 2009 on UPC Ireland is operated and owned by City Channel Ltd which already owns the brands City Channel and Channel South in the Republic of Ireland. The company is headed by David Harvey, who also founded the original station and is based in Dublin. In August 2007, Liberty Ventures, a subsidiary of Liberty Global, purchased a 35% stake in the company, saying that they were looking to expand the City Channel format to Central and Eastern Europe.[2]
Format
City 7 will focus on entertainment for Eastern European nationals living in Ireland. City 7 will offer niche-focused programming as a major part of its output, including areas such as health, music, motoring and lifestyle shows.
