Churchville, Iowa — unincorporated community — Country United States State Iowa County Warren County Time zone Central (CST) (UTC-6) - Summer (DST) CDT (UTC-5) Churchville is an unincorporated community in Warren County, Iowa, United States. It is located at the intersection of Churchville Street and 30th Avenue. It is 1.5 miles southwest of Prole and two miles north of Martensdale, at 41.3967873N -93.7509298W.[1]
History
Churchville was founded by John Churchman in 1854. The Church of the Assumption, a Catholic church, was constructed in 1859; the oldest Catholic church in the county, it was destroyed in a fire in March 1933.[2]
A rail line was established at Churchville by the late 1800s. Rail service to Churchville was discontinued in July 1921.[2]
