It is located at the intersection of Churchville Street and 30th Avenue. It is 1.5 miles southwest of Prole and two miles north of Martensdale, at 41.3967873N -93.7509298W.[1]
History
Churchville was founded by John Churchman in 1854. The Church of the Assumption, a Catholic church, was constructed in 1859; the oldest Catholic church in the county, it was destroyed in a fire in March 1933.[2]
A rail line was established at Churchville by the late 1800s. Rail service to Churchville was discontinued in July 1921.[2]
