Chris Chase, also known by the stage name Irene Kane, is an American model, actor and journalist.[1] Her best-known role is in Killer's Kiss by Stanley Kubrick. She later wrote advice books and co-authored several celebrity autobiographies.

Life and career
Chase was discovered by Vogue.[2] Photographer Bert Stern introduced her to Kubrick when he was looking for the female lead in Killer's Kiss. Following that film, Kane appeared in several Broadway stage productions. On June 3, 1962, she married Michael Chase (born 1932), son of playwright Mary Chase and an educational television producer.[3]
She then began using the name Chris Chase professionally and moved into journalism, working at the New York Times and writing advice books on weight loss and getting into film acting.[4] Chase and her husband were seriously injured in a car accident near Poughkeepsie, New York in April 1975.[5] After a short stint at CBS Morning News, Chase joined CNN in 1980 and stayed until 1986, serving as the first anchor of Media Watch in 1985. She went on to coauthor a book on CNN's founding with CNN co-founder Reese Schonfeld.
Chase also co-authored several celebrity autobiographies, including books by Rosalind Russell, Betty Ford, and Alan King. She also co-authored a biography of Josephine Baker with Baker's son Jean-Claude Baker.
