Chennur is located at 14°34′00″N 78°48′00″E / 14.5667°N 78.8000°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 115 meters (380 feet). Temples and Tourist places
Pushpagiri is a famous holy place where Chenna kesava swamy temple is located. The temple is on the banks of River Penna. Very near to Pushpagiri another great temple namely Sri Kasivisweswara Swamy temple is present, which is also very accient one. In ancient days Pushpagiri was called as "City of Temples", even today it is called as Southern Kaasi (Vaaranasi). Pushpagiri temples are placed under control of Archeological Department of India to protect the temples. Chennur is located with very good tourist places where the River view from the temple is amazing and entire family can enjoy by swimming and trecking the small hill behing it. This is nearly 9 km from chennur.
Kailasagiri Kona is located near Balasingapalli village. Here we can see a temple of Lord Shiva. More than 100 years back it was built by late Sri Palle Gangaiah (Gangi Reddy) of Kanuparthy village. It is also a famous temple near chennur. Kailasagiri is a small hill where Lord shiva is honoured and here the Penna River is passing in Norh-South direction like Pushpagiri and Kaasi (Vaaranasi). Hence it became very holy place. Tourists can visit another temple of Lord Shiva located in Kondapeta village and Hanuman temple located in Kanuparthy village and both are also very ancient temples.
