He was Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs during 1993–97.[1]

Family
He was from to a Chaach family of Gujrat. As of February 2011 his brother, Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad, is a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.[1]
Career
Chaudhary Farooq was a social worker[clarification needed] and concerned about the welfare of people. He worked to provide every village with basic sanitation, education and health facilities. He was responsible for creating some 287 schools in his constituency.[citation needed]
Death
Chaudhary Farooq was murdered on 29 December 2002.[1] His murder was political.[clarification needed]
