Chris Tiu (born Christopher John Alandy-Dy Tiu on July 15, 1985 in Manila, Philippines), is a Filipino professional basketball player of Chinese-Filipino descent. He currently plays for the Smart Gilas team and is also a TV host, commercial model, and politician.

He is the host of the TV shows Man vs. Beast and Ripley's Believe It or Not! on GMA 7 every Saturday.

Early Life

Chris is the second eldest of five children of Jerry and Lianne Tiu.[1] He took his elementary and high school education at Xavier School in San Juan City, Philippines, and his collegiate education at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City, Philippines, where he finished his two major courses, Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, Major in Mathematical Finance and a Minor in Chinese Studies. He is formerly the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman and now, a barangay kagawad (barangay councilor) of Barangay Urdaneta in Makati City.

Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho featured Tiu on October 4, 2008.[2]

He was named Favorite Athlete in the first-ever Nickelodeon Philippines Kids' Choice Awards 2008 held at Aliw Theater, Pasay City.[3]
