Kodambakkam (Tamil: கோடம்பாக்கம்) is a locality in Chennai, India. Traditionally, Kodambakkam has been synonymous with the Tamil film industry and is known for its movie production houses and the film stars residing in this locality. The term Kollywood, which denotes the Tamil film industry, is a portmanteau, combining the names of Kodambakkam and Hollywood. There are also many production studios in the vicinity of Kodambakkam, notable of which is the AVM studio.

Kodambakkam is also the natural home for many film aspirants who try their luck in India's second largest entertainment industry, Bollywood, Mumbai (Bombay) being the largest. Apart from this, Kodambakkam is also the official residence of many film directors and producers. The studios in Kodambakkam are equipped with the latest technology. It has created renowned film directors like Mani Ratnam, S. Shankar etc.,

Kodambakkam borders with Choolaimedu, T.Nagar, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar and West Mambalam. It has got one of the busiest suburban railway stations in the city. Sekar Emporium, Meenakshi College, Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College and Liberty Theater are famous land marks situated in and around the famous "Arcot Road (N.S.K Salai)" in Kodambakkam.

The stretch of Arcot Road, which becomes Kodambakkam High Road as you advance closer to Nungambakkam, contains a variety of shops. Residential areas of Kodambakkam include United India Colony, Rangarajapuram, Trustpuram and Taylor's Estate.

Kodambakkam is close to Koyambedu to the northwest, Anna Salai to the east, shopping areas in T. Nagar. A railway station can also be found in Kodambakkam, which provides easy access to South Chennai and Central Station to the north.
