Canadian hydrogen installation code
- Canadian hydrogen installation code
The Canadian hydrogen installation code (CHIC) is a hydrogen installation code defining the installation requirements of different types of hydrogen installations in Canada [ [http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/July2007/03/c3412.html July 2007 - Press release] ] published by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec as Nationalstandard of Canada - CAN/BNQ 1784-000.
Codes and standards have repeatedly been identified as a major institutional barrier to deploying hydrogen technologies and developing a hydrogen economy. To enable the commercialization of hydrogen in consumer products, new model building codes and equipment and other technical standards are developed and recognized by federal, state, and local governments.
