Denmark-South Africa relations are foreign relations between Denmark and South Africa. Denmark have a embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.[1] South Africa have a embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark.[2]

History

Denmark was a very strong supporter of the anti-apartheid. Queen Margrethe II paid a visit to South Africa in 1996. President Nelson Mandela visited Denmark in 1999. Denmark has always had a very active development cooperation programme with South Africa from the 1960s which was changed to an assistance from 1995. Denmark assisted with 4 billion DKK. Denmark remains a strong supporter of NEPAD.[3]

Trade

Trade between South Africa and Denmark has increased since 1994. Denmark has been giving aid to South Africa since that time.[4]
