South Africa–Serbia relations are foreign relations between South Africa and Serbia. Serbia have embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, with ambassador Goran Vujičić.[1] South Africa is represented in Serbia through its embassy in Athens (Greece). Diplomatic relation was established on 2 April 1992.

Relations

Ever since the times of Josip Broz Tito and the Non-Aligned Movement, Serbia has enjoyed excellent relations with African nations. South Africa is Serbia's closest ally in Africa and the two nations have had excellent relations since the signing of diplomatic relations in 1992 following the end of the Apartheid system. South Africa is also home to around 20 000 Serbs mainly living in the Johannesburg area.[2] South Africa is also voicing support for Serbia over the Kosovo issue.[3] Nelson Mandela has also been made an honorary citizen of Belgrade.[4] Serbia is also actively involved in many investments in Angola with whom it has excellent political and economic relations. Also, delegation of South African businessmen will visit Serbia in the next month to finalize negotiations on the construction of a mineral water bottling plant in the vicinity of Pozarevac, on investing in several mines in eastern and southern Serbia and on buying agricultural complexes in Vojvodina. Other countries

Serbian embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, is accredited to represent Serbian relations with the nine others African countries beside South Africa. Those are Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.[6]
