Ciolpani — Commune — Coordinates: 44°44′N 26°7′E / 44.733°N 26.117°E Country Romania County Ilfov County Population (2002)[1] 4,472 Time zone EET (UTC+2) – Summer (DST) EEST (UTC+3) Ciolpani is a commune in the northwestern part of Ilfov county, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Ciolpani, Izvorani, Lupăria, Piscu and Ţigăneşti.
Etymology
Its name is the plural of ciolpan, a Romanian word meaning "tree stump".[2]
