It is the only high school in the Nelson County School District, and is by far the largest of the city's four high schools (one public and operated by the Bardstown city school district, one Roman Catholic, and one Protestant).
Located in one of the fastest-growing areas of Kentucky, the school's attendance zone is scheduled to split in two when the district completes the new Thomas Nelson High School, also in Bardstown, in 2012.
