Controversy

Mishandled Funds

In fall of 2003, an audit found that the school had an outstanding debt of $406,919.00 most of which centered on male athletics. Cobb officials forced out principal John Flatt and athletics director Dennis Jordan. Former associate athletics director Todd Downes was suspended from his teaching job for 20 days. Head football coach Greg Vandagriff also was punished for his misuse of the funds and was suspended for 30 days and reassigned to a middle school.
