It serves approximately 2599 students in the Cobb County Public School System, in grades 9-12. The school mascot is the warrior and the school colors are navy blue and orange. North Cobb is the largest school in the Cobb County School District.

Credentials
North Cobb was established in 1958, replacing Acworth High School, and is one of the oldest high schools in Cobb County. They have several awards in numerous competitions both athletic and academic alike.
North Cobb has recently[when?] become the county's only Social Studies magnet program. It is designated as North Cobb's School for International Studies. North Cobb also houses an on campus preschool, which provides students interested in pursuing the Early Childhood Education field with a priceless advantage and much experience.
North Cobb has also recently[when?] become involved with the Advanced Placement Course programs offering diverse courses such as AP Human Geography, AP Language, AP United States History, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP European History, AP United States Government and AP Environmental Science.
North Cobb's biggest rivals are Harrison High School and Kennesaw Mountain High School.
Athletics
Football
In the 2006 football season, North Cobb lost in the playoffs to Grayson High School, 22-21. They finished 6-5.
In the 2007 football season, North Cobb was #1 in the state for five weeks straight and in the top 25 of a USA Today High School poll, at 10-0, before losing to Peachtree Ridge High School in the first round play-off game. At season's end the Warriors held the Region 5-AAAAA Championship, Top of the Rock Trophy (Beat Harrison High School), and Civil War Trophy (Beat Kennesaw Mountain High School). Matt Roark went off to Kentucky to play football on a scholarship as well as Oliver Davis (Carson-Newman college), Matt Britain (Ohio), Nnamdi Ezenwa (Purdue), Jarvis West (Morgan State University) , Calvin Middleton (Jacksonville State University) and Bryan Presume (JUCO to Southern Illinois University).
The 2008 football team finished the season 5-5 after opening the season with a win over MLK, 24-21, with a last-second field goal.
The 2009 squad finished up 3-7 for a second straight disappointing season.
2010 looked to be a promising season for the Warriors with returning seniors Darren Waller who had signed with Georgia Tech, Max Mason, Troy Gray, Kelvin Bowen, and quarterback Travis Hawkins. After dropping their first game in a blowout against Alpharetta, North Cobb stepped up their game. They went on a five game winning streak being 5-1 entering a match-up against highly favored Hillgrove who came out on top. The following week the Warriors ran into undefeated McEachern, going into the final minutes of the game with the Warriors leading the 3rd state ranked Indians, allowed a touchdown to give McEachern a 31-28 lead with seconds to go. North Cobb would go on to lose the remaining two games on their schedule with a 5-5 season. Darren Waller, Max Mason, and Troy Gray were all D-1 commits. Not only were those three D-1 but overall 9 memebers of that senior class have already gone on to college ball in some form or fashion. Some as walk-ons ect.
Baseball
2003- North cobb recorded one of its best seasons going 23-8 and being ranked in the top 5 of the state for the majority of the season. Many players advanced to the next level of playing such as: Matt Hopkins, Casey Cook, C.J. Bressoud, Adam Hall, Joey Davis, Johnathan Strickland, Ricky McDaniel,Andrew Einert, and Sean Devine. The Warriors went undefeated in region and won the Region 5 AAAAA title but lost to Pope in the second round of the state playoffs. Rich McDaniel had the second best season in school history going12-2 for the warriors. Catcher C.J. Bressoud was drafted that year and signed by the Braves turning down a college offer from Alabama. The Warriors also had the county leader in home runs with Joey Davis.
North Cobb Baseball in 2008 finished their remarkable season with a very respectable record of 23-12. The Warriors went to Disney to compete in the Final Four but lost to Brookwood in 2 games. Center Fielder Jonathan Taylor received a scholarship to play at the University of Georgia.
The 2009 baseball team finished up with a disappointing record that stood at 14-12 at the end of the season.
In 2010 the Warriors seemed to have their game back finishing with a record of 20-11 making it to the second round of the playoffs. North Cobb had many standouts like seniors Lucas Hart (scholarship to GA Southern), Mitch Coffman, Brett Clayton, and Zach Campbell.
The 2011 season for the Warriors was a disappointment given the amount of projected talent on the team. The Warriors finished the regular season with a record of 16-10 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to East Coweta. Joey Cecere, Avery Cross, Matthew Fryman, and Wade Marcy all signed to play baseball at the college level.[1]
Cross Country
The girls team ran their way to state in the 2007 season, finishing 4th in the region, and the team holds a high average GPA. Next season the running warriors hope to place even higher in the state and regional championships. In 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2008, the boys team made it to the State Championships. The girls again made it to state in the 2009 season as well as one of the Varsity boys, Alec Clifford. Alec finished 3rd in the state at the State Championships.
NJROTC
North Cobb High School hosts a Naval JROTC unit. The unit at North Cobb is actually a "joint unit", made up of cadets from both North Cobb and Harrison high schools; its official name is the North Cobb/Harrison NJROTC unit. The unit's membership numbered roughly 120 cadets as of November 2009 - nearly enough to be considered a battalion rather than a company. On 1 December 2010, the NCHS-HHS unit is expected to make said transition from Company to Battalion, having a membership of just over 150 cadets.
In the 2009-2010 school year, the NCHS-HHS unit was awarded the "Distinguished Unit" award by the Commander of Naval Education and Training (then RADM Kilkenny), placing them in the top 10% of all NJROTC units in the nation; additionally, the unit was recognized at the second-"Most Improved" unit in the nation. At the 2009-2010 JROTC Area 12 drill meet, the unit placed 6th out of 11 attending high schools, scoring 2nd place overall in the academic category. The North Cobb-Harrison unit also took first place in the Area 12 (state-wide) Academic Team Brain Brawl championships that year.
Marching Band
The North Cobb Warrior Marching Band was named the best band in Georgia through a contest held by WSB-TV during the 2009 Marching Season. The band performed segments of their "Midnight Madness" show at Turner Field before an Atlanta Braves game (pictured above) in September, 2010 for the honor.
The North Cobb Warrior Marching Band has won a total of 50 grand championships throughout the entire career of the high school. Some of these Grand Champions include 3 in 2004, 2 in 2005,1 in 2007, 1 in 2008, and 2 in 2009. North Cobb's Colorguard and Drumline have also placed extremely well in many of these competitions.

Band
The North Cobb Concert Bands have performed all over the state, including the GMEA conference in Savannah in 2006 and JanFest at the University of Georgia. The Wind Symphony (Highest band at North Cobb) regularly performs extremely high level pieces like Aurora Awakes, Turbine, Concerntino for 4 percussionist and Wind Ensemble, El Camino Real, Angels in the Architecture, and Rocky Point Holiday. The North Cobb High School Wind Symphony is one of the three bands that got chosen to play at the 2012 GMEA conference in Savannah Georgia.
