It is the northern-most airport in the state of Baja California and the country of Mexico.

Information
Mexicali International Airport is located 20 miles east of the city. The current airport surface is 535 hectares, it has a runway of 2,600 m long and 45 meters wide with an asphalt concrete surface. And that has an operating capacity of 18 operations per hour.
Likewise for the evacuation of the aircraft are arranged two designated taxiway "Alpha" and "Bravo", 385 and 460 meters long respectively, by 23 meters wide.
Additionally, there are two platforms, one of commercial aviation and other General Aviation aircraft parking. As the Commercial Aviation hydraulic concrete with three positions for aircraft type Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 all series and Boeing 757, and the other asphalt for use by general aviation with 24 positions and 3 heliports.
For 2008, Mexicali received 533.800 passengers, while in 2009 received 470.900 passengers, according to data released by the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP).
Aviacsa ceased operations in Mexicali on May 12, 2008.
For support in emergency situations, the airport has a building for the CREI (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting).
There is also a machine room and visual aids, control tower, 3 hangars, and a plant for wastewater treatment, among others.
