(Cramer, 1775)The Rhetenor Blue Morpho (Morpho rhetenor) is a Neotropical butterfly. It is found in Surinam, French Guiana, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. Many subspecies and forms have been described.
Etymology
'Rhetenor' is a literary reference. In Ovid's Metamorphoses, Rhetenor was a companion of Diomedes.
