Airport Tunnel (Las Vegas)

Airport Tunnel (Las Vegas)

The Airport Tunnel (Las Vegas) is a buried highway tunnel in Paradise, an unincorporated area of Clark County near Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It carries the Airport Spur Connector underneath several runways and taxiways at McCarran International Airport. Between Interstate 215 and the south portal of the tunnel (which lies just north of Sunset Road), the roadway is officially unsigned State Route 171. Beyond the north portal and continuing past the main terminal complex of the airport, the roadway is known as Paradise Road. The airport tunnel opened to traffic in 1996.

Since the relocation of car rental processing facilities to a new complex located at 7135 Gilespie Street, the tunnel is now also used by all shuttle busses carrying customers to and from both main passenger terminals at McCarran to this common site for rental automobile pick-up and drop-off.
