The "Yearbook of the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers" promotes geographical education and research by publishing abstracts of papers from its annual meetings, a selection of full-length peer-reviewed articles, and book reviews.

The APCG, founded in 1935 at the University of California, Los Angeles, has published its "Yearbook" annually except during the war years of 1943-46. The association's first president was Otis W. Freeman of Eastern Washington University, who edited vols. 1-5 (1935-1940), and its longest-serving editor was Darrick Danta of California State University, Northridge, who edited vols. 59-68 (1997-2006). The current editor is James Craine of California State University, Northridge.

The "Yearbook" is owned by the APCG. From 1965 through 1996 (vols. 27-58) it was published by Oregon State University Press, from 1997 through 1999 (vols. 59-61) by the APCG, and from 2000 (vol. 62) by the University of Hawaiokinai Press. Its first electronic edition appeared in 2004 on Project MUSE. The current cover design dates from 2007 (vol. 69).
