Croatian Committee

The Croatian Committee (Croatian: Hrvatski komitet) was a Croatian emigrant organization formed in 1919 in opposition to the creation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes by the Yugoslav Committee. It was formed by former Austro-Hungarian general and administrator of Bosnia and Herzegovina Stjepan Sarkotić and was led by Ivo Frank from its formation until 1929. In 1929 Ante Pavelić took over following a royal dictatorship in what was soon renamed by the monarchy as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

The committee was formed in May 1919 in Graz by a group of exiled Croats, most of whom were former members of the Austro-Hungarian Army and members of the Croatian Party of Rights.^[1] The organization's headquarters were in Vienna, Austria.
