Burnhamthorpe Road

Burnhamthorpe Road is a east-west route running in the cities of Toronto, Mississauga and the Town of Oakville, Ontario. The road was named after the birth place of settler John Abelson, Burnham Thorpe. [ [http://www.mississauga.ca/portal/residents/burnhamthorpegallery Burnhamthorpe, Dixie, Summerville] ]

The eastern end of the roadway starts at Dundas Street West in in the Village of Islington, Toronto, but most the road is in Mississauga. The Toronto portion runs in a well established residential neighbourhood.

The western end of the roadway is broken up by Sixteen Mile Creek and Highway 407 in Oakville, Ontario and is a rural route surrounded by farm land and large residential properties. A broken section runs west of the 407/Sixteen Mile Creek and ends at Tremaine Road.
