Arran High School

Arran High School is a state-funded secondary school in Lamlash, on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. It is the only secondary school on the island,and is beside Lamlash Pirmary School. The school has a roll of around 200 pupils, and employs about 30 teachers. At the beginning of 2008, a new school building was opened, replacing an older building which dated from the late 1940s.Former First Minister of Scotland Jack McConnell officially opened the new school on the 9th of June 2008.

The school has 25 classrooms as well as a workshop, a theatre, two gym halls, a library and, three support rooms. The school also has a nursery for kids aged 5 and under, as well as three college rooms. Within the school grounds there is a portacabin which was due to be demolished, but was saved by the school pupils and is now used as a youth club.
