Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff) is a Richardson, Texas, multi-disciplinary professional services firm. Halff is employee-owned and provides engineering, architecture, planning, interior design, landscape architecture, environmental, right of way and surveying services for government and private sector clients in the power, energy, chemical, environmental, infrastructure, emergency response, and homeland security services. Offices are located in nine Texas cities: Austin, Dallas, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, McAllen, Richardson and San Antonio.

The firm began in 1950 as Albert H. Halff Consulting Sanitary Engineers, as it specialized in water and waste-water control and environmental inspections.

Through various name changes in the 1960's and 1970's, the company formally changed its name to Halff Associates, Inc. in 1983.

History

Founded by Dr. Albert Henry Halff in 1950 in a one-room office in Dallas, Halff Associates has grown to a practice of more than 600 professionals offering services ranging from environmental assessments to multi-million dollar highway projects.

Albert Henry Halff, P.E., Ph.D., specialized in sustainable solutions that fulfilled human needs while protecting the natural environment. In 1981, he was named by TSPE as "Texas Engineer of the Year." He is a Fellow and Honorary Member of Texas ASCE, and, in 1984, was awarded the "Award of Honor," the highest award of the ASCE Texas Section. On February 27, 2004, Dr. Halff was awarded the School of Engineering "Hall of Leaders" Award from Southern Methodist University, his undergraduate alma mater. Dr. Halff holds thirteen patents on engineering advances, including innovations in desalinization, water treatment, industrial-waste treatment and ion exchange.fact|date=July 2008
