Career

Barnes was a vocalist with the UK pop group the Quiet Five before departing for a solo career in 1969. Gerry Bron produced his recordings.

Barnes released an album on Capitol Records in 1970, and scored two chart hits in the UK Singles Chart that same year. His first hit, "Take to the Mountains" reached #35 in May 1970, and "Go North" peaked at #38 in November.
