Waterville is a town in Pepin County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 859 at the 2000 census.

Places

The unincorporated community of Arkansaw is located within the eastern portion of the town.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.7 km²), of which, 35.7 square miles (92.5 km²) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²) of it (1.30%) is water.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 859 people, 331 households, and 229 families residing in the town. The population density was 24.0 people per square mile (9.3/km²). There were 351 housing units at an average density of 9.8/sq mi (3.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.95% White, 0.12% Asian, 0.23% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.05% of the population.

There were 331 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.9% were married couples living together, 6.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 25.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.17.
