The 2007-08 clausura Motagua season will be the fifty-second season of the Motagua professional football lifetime. Motagua are the current runner-ups and are looking for the 12th championship.

Motagua additional of playing the Honduran league they competed in the last 2008 CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

*Finishing the tournament, Motagua should change their home games from Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino in Tegucigalpa to Estadio Marcelo Tinoco in Danli. This is because the Carias Andino will be undergoing major repairs for the 2010 World Cup qualifications.
*Ramon Maradiaga left the club to start coaching Guatemala national football team in their run towards the 2010 FIFA World Cup in the 11th round.
*Amado Guevara signed with Toronto FC and left the team in the 14th round.
*Jorge Ernesto Pineda travelled to Guatemala to assist Ramon Maradiaga after coaching 12 to 16 round losing 2 games, winning 1, and tieing 1.
