Carmen Lopez (character)

Carmen Consuelo Lopez (played by Masiela Lusha) is a main character in the television series, "George Lopez".

The fictional character, Carmen Consuelo Lopez. [Bringing Home the Bacon; season 3, episode 8] [George's Grand Slam; season 4, episode 19] (b. November 7, 1988), is George and Angie's daughter and first-born child, Max's older sister, Benny and Vic's granddaughter and Veronica's cousin.

Carmen is a passionate and rebellious force. In an early episode, she attended a public school, where she was sexually harassed and labeled as a whore by an ex-boyfriend with whom she wouldn't sleep. The rumor then spread throughout the school, causing her to transfer to Allendale Prep., a private prep school [Girl Fight; season 2, episode 15] [George vs. George; season 2, episode 16] After a year there, Carmen was expelled for running away and partying with rapper Chingy in San Francisco. After Allendale Prep., she was briefly home-schooled by Angie before attending St. Teresa's Catholic School. [Home Sweet Homeschool; season 4, episode 4] She graduates there and goes off to college. Carmen had an on-again, off-again boyfriend, Jason MacNamara, for much of Seasons 3 and 4. In early Season 5, he ran away from her after she pressured him into having a baby. Her middle name comes from Angie's grandmother, Consuelo. [Bringing Home the Bacon; season 3, episode 8] She is last seen in flashbacks near the end of "George's Mom Faces Hard Tambien."

On her role, actress Masiela Lusha, described Carmen as "possessing a wisdom, a naivety, and an idealism that is all glued together by passion of the rawest form. Carmen taught me more about boys and rebellion than most of my friends. I often envied her brash, passionate ways. As Masiela, I enjoyed feeling sheltered, compared to Carmen who yearned to escape the confines of a family who couldn’t understand her." Family and Friends

*George Lopez- Carmen's father who is a factory manager, and often started trouble through his temper, or stuborness. He is also known to enjoy golf
*Angie Lopez- Carmen's mother who was a work-at-home wedding planner. She is generally kind, and loves doing "good deeds."
*Max Lopez - Carmen's younger brother who was naive, and had dyslexia.
*Benny Lopez- Carmen's paternal grandmother who got in trouble through actions and behavior. She was also known for her alcoholism and smoking problems.
*Victor "Vic" Palmero is Carmen's wealthy maternal grandfather who was a medical doctor.
*Jason MacNamara is Carmen's ex-boyfriend, who at one point lived with her family, and was briefly adopted.
*Manny Lopez is Carmen's paternal grandfather who was also rich.

Note : Carmen hung out with many different girls, but never seen with any regular friends. Ashley Tisdale and Brenda Song both made guest appearances as Carmen's friends.
