census GR|2 of 2000, there were 452 people, 224 households, and 127 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 753.6 people per square mile (290.9/km²). There were 280 housing units at an average density of 466.8/sq mi (180.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.67% White, and 1.33% from two or more races.There were 224 households out of which 16.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.0% were married couples living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 42.9% were non-families. 39.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.02 and the average family size was 2.69.
In the city the population was spread out with 15.0% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 33.8% from 45 to 64, and 21.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 48 years. For every 100 females there were 85.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.3 males.
