Club career

Davidson, a midfielder, started his career with Livingston. He was sent off in both of his first two senior appearances, but impressed during the 2008–09 season. At the end of the season he transferred to St. Johnstone and signed a three year contract with the club.[1] Davidson made his debut in a St Johnstone shirt playing in a 5–0 win over Stenhousemuir in the Co-Operative Insurance Cup. On July the 21st 2011 Rangers had a bid for Davidson turned down by St. Johnstone believed to be in the region of 250k.[2]

International career

Davidson won his first Scotland U21 cap on 10 August 2010 in a 1-1 draw with Sweden in the UEFA Under 21's European Championship qualifiers.[3] This came at the third time of asking after being previously called up, but having to withdraw through injury.[4] On 15 November 2010, Davidson was called up by Scotland manager Craig Levein to the full squad for the first time, to face the Faroe Islands in a friendly on 16 November 2010 at Pittodrie, Aberdeen.[5] He was again included in the full Scotland squad to face Brazil at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium but did not make an appearance.[6][7]
