Dave Mackay (born 2 May 1980 in Rutherglen) is a Scottish professional association football player. A defender, he plays for St. Johnstone, who play in Perth, Scotland, which is a constituent country of the United Kingdom, located to the north of England. St. Johnstone are a member of the Scottish Premier League, which is the highest tier of professional football in Scotland.

Club career

MacKay started his senior career at Dundee and over the course of five seasons at Dens Park he played over one hundred games for the Dark Blues as well as gaining further experience on loan to Brechin City and Arbroath. In the summer of 2004, he then transferred down south to Oxford United, before coming back to Scotland for family reasons to sign for Livingston.

In May 2009, Mackay transferred from Livingston to St. Johnstone, who had won promotion to the Scottish Premier League.[1]
