Standing at 6 ft 7 in (2.00 m), Berić played the shooting guard position. A great scorer, he led the 2001 Euroleague in scoring with 23.3 ppg, playing for Partizan Belgrade.
Berić has been a regular member of the Yugoslav national basketball team. He won two Eurobasket Gold medals in 1995, 1997 and the Gold medal in the 1998 FIBA World Championship.
He announced his retirement in June 2008. Current head coach of Serbian national team Dušan Ivković offered Berić job as director of younger categories and Mića has accepted this position with delight.
