Zoran Savić ( _sr. Зоран Савић; born
November 18 1966 inZenica ,Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia) is a retired Serbian professionalbasketball player. The 208 cm (6'10") center played in various European nations.Career
In 1990 and 1991, he played with Jugoplastika in
Split and won the Yugoslav league title. In 1991, he signed with FC Barcelona and spent a couple of seasons inSpain .Savić then became a member of PAOK Thessaloniki in
Greece , where he won the Greek Cup title in1995 and the Radivoj Korać Cup in1994 .He then spent a year with
Real Madrid before settling in Kinder Bologna in 1997, and won the Italian championship as well as theEuroleague . In 1998 he moved to Efes Pilsen ofIstanbul , and won the Supercup ofTurkey .Savić then returned to FC Barcelona in
2000 , and then moved to Fortitudo (Skipper) Bologna in2001 . In2002 he ended his professional career.National team
Internationally, Zoran Savić won gold medals with Yugoslavia at the 1990
Basketball World Championship and during the 1991, 1995, and 1997 European Championships. He was part of Yugoslavia's silver medal team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.After retirement
Savić is also of the founding members of the
Group Seven Children's Foundation .Since
2005 he has been the general manager ofFC Barcelona Bàsquet .External links
