Home coloursAway coloursBillericay Town Football Club are an English football club based in Billericay, Essex, who currently play in the Isthmian League Premier Division.
Billericay finished second in the Isthmian League Premier Division in the 2004-05 season, but failed to earn promotion after losing 1-0 to Leyton Town in the end of season playoffs.
Notable former players
Steve Jones, who was sold to West Ham United for a then club record £22,500 in October 1992. Having found first team opportunities limited at West Ham, making only 16 appearances for the Hammers, he moved on to AFC Bournemouth. When Bournemouth manager Harry Redknapp was appointed as West Ham's new boss he returned to West Ham in January 1996 for £150,000. Again, after finding first team opportunities limited at Upton Park he moved on to Charlton Athletic for £400,000. After making over 50 appearances for Charlton he was sold to Bristol City for £400,000. He then moved to big spending non leaguers Hornchurch.
Nathan Elder, who was sold to League One outfit Brighton & Hove Albion in the 2007 January transfer window for £10,000 (and a 15% sell on clause).
Amara Simba, who is a former French international and played for Billericay in the 2001/02 season whilst aged 39.
Chris Whelpdale, who arrived at New Lodge following a protracted transfer from Maldon Town several months into the 2006-2007 season after terms had been agreed in the summer of 2006 (Maldon claimed he had verbally agreed a new deal with them). He want on to transform Billericay’s season from being on the edge of the play-offs to genuine title contenders. He then moved to League Two outfit Peterborough United in the summer of 2007 for a club record £40,000 with interest from League One sides Southend United and Swansea City as well as Championship side Crystal Palace.
DJ Campbell, who briefly played for Billericay, went on to inspire a fantastic cup run by fellow non-league outfit Yeading before being sold to Brentford. From there, after scoring twice against Sunderland to knock them out of the FA Cup, he was sold on to Birmingham City and has subsequently played for several teams, including at Premier League level for Birmingham, Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers.
Jamie Reeves, who was a member of the 1979 FA Vase winning team, is a pundit on the ESPN Star Sports coverage of the Premier League.
