Nemipterus virgatus, also known as the golden threadfin bream or Hung Sam in Hong Kong, is a kind of nemipteridae (fish) living in the Western Pacific, from Southern Japan to Northwest Australia and the Arafura Sea. It is one of the most popular commercial and food fish in the East China Sea and northern South China Sea.[1][2]

Commonly, there are no live Nemipterus virgatus fish in the market. It is because they die shortly after being caught from high water pressure in the deep sea by fishermen.
