Charley Brewer is a former American football player. He was the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns from 1953–1955. His son, Robert, was the starting quarterback for the Longhorns during the 1981 and 1982 season.
A native of Lubbock, Brewer prepped at Lubbock High School, guided by coach C. R. Pattison. He quarterbacked the Lubbock Westerners to a 13–0 season and the 4A state championship in 1951.[1]
He later moved to the Dallas suburb of Richardson and started a 43-year career in banking. In 1998, Brewer was inducted into the Texas Football Hall of Fame in Waco.
