MCKV Institute of Engineering Established 1999 Type Engineering college Location Howrah, West Bengal,, India Campus Urban Website www.mckvie.edu.in MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE) is an Engineering college, founded in 1999, affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology.[1][2] The institute is located in Liluah, Howrah, West Bengal, India.

The institute provides four year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees in Automobile Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, electrical Engineering and Information Technology and lots of branches still to be on ground here.Institute also provides two year Master of Technology(M.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering,Computer Science and Engineering . Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are accredited by NBA national board of accredation .[1] It is one of only a few colleges that offers the Automobile Engineering course.[3] And was the first institute under West Bengal University of Technology, and the first of its kind in East India, to start an entirely new course of Automobile Engineering.[citation needed] [4]
The institute is recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of West Bengal and is All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved.[1] It is managed by the Sri Chhaganlal Kejriwal, Maganlal Chhaganlal Kejriwal Charity Trust.[5]
At Baja Saeindia 2007, India's first ever vehicle design and build competition held in December 2007, at the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP) facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, where 27 teams were shortlisted out of 52 from all over India, the MCKVIE .The team, with a uniquely designed offroad vehicle, were runners-up in the Cost Award section due to the efforts of the brilliant students. In January 2008 a remote-controlled switching system designed and made by students from MCKVIE was selected as best project at the seventh Engineering Fair, organised by Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), in association with The Telegraph, with the participants winning a scholarship of Rs 1,000 a month for one year.[4]
