July 11 1942 –May 22 2005 ) was a Canadiancountry music singer, guitarist, and songwriter.He was born in
Ottawa in 1942. Together withBruce Rawlins , he composed songs performed by theMercey Brothers , Carroll Baker,Bill Anderson ,Marie Bottrell , andCharlie Louvin , among others.After performing as part of Baker's band from 1978 to 1980, he began a solo career. He recorded his first album on the Mercey Brothers' MBS label and later recorded with
Savannah Records . He won theCanadian Country Music Association 's Male Vocalist of the Year award six times. Carisse toured with his own band, Tracks, during the 1980s.Terry Carisse died of
cancer at the age of 62 in 2005. He was posthumously inducted into theCanadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
