Grierson Baronets

The Grierson Baronetcy, of Lag in the County of Dumfries, is a dormant title in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia. which presently has no claimant. It was created on 25th March, 1685 for Robert Grierson, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Dumfries and notorious persecutors of the Covenanters, with remainder to heirs male whatsoever. The second Baronet represented Dumfriesshire in the British House of Commons. The fourth Baronet took part in the 1st Jacobite rising of 1715, and was captured & taken prisoner with his older brother, Sir William Grierson, 2nd Baronet.
