Degrees
In Spain there are two levels of technical studies. For engineering studies there is a 3-year degree called _es. "Ingeniero Técnico" (Technical Engineer) and a 5 or 6-year degree called _es. "Ingeniero" (Engineer). In the case of architecture studies there is a 3-year degree called _es. "Arquitecto Técnico" (Technical Architect) and a 5 or 6-year degree called _es. "Arquitecto" (Architect). Those degrees will disappear due to the
Bologna process and the new structure, at least for engineering studies, will most likely feature 4-year degrees withmaster's degrees on top. The current situation of 5 or 6-year undergraduate degrees follows the formerly widespread tradition of technical universities inContinental Europe , that awarded their students anEngineer's degree , being that degree comparable to amaster's degree .Some of the degrees offered at the UPM are:
* Aeronautics Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniería Aeronáutica")
* Architecture ( _es. "Arquitectura")
* Chemical Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniería Química")
* Computer Science, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Information Systems ( _es. "Ingeniería en Informática")
* Civil Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos")
* Electronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniero de Telecomunicación")
* Geology Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniero Geólogo")

* Forest Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniería de Montes")
* Mine Engineering ( _es. "Ingeniería de Minas")
