Martin Luther High School is a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod-affiliated private school located in Greendale, Wisconsin.

History
Martin Luther High School was built in the post World War II era, before the end of the Cold War. It was built as the second school belonging to the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee. It was designed to be able to serve over 800 students at its peak occupancy. The campus is drug and smoke free, a policy which is enforced by the Greendale police. Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain conducted a town hall meeting in Martin Luther High School's gymnasium in 2008[1] during his campaign for the office of United States President. Current goals of the high school include resurfacing the track and expanding the music computer lab. Martin Luther High School has many dedicated teachers who prepare their students for life after high school.
Academics
Martin Luther High School has a high quality, college preparatory program which focuses on all aspects of education including mathematics, literature, history, the arts, and foreign language. Almost all the teachers at Martin Luther either have their Master's degree or are working towards receiving theirs. This fact is shown in the knowledge they bring with them into the classroom. The teachers and faculty members also have a dedication for education and a focus on a strong learning experience for all their students. Through honors classes and five Advanced Placement (AP) classes, students are well prepared for life after high school. Students go on after graduation to work, enter the military, and go on to a college or university. Recent graduates have gone on to school at several of the Concordia Colleges, Luther College, Princeton, University of Tennessee - Knoxville, University of Texas - Austin, the University of Iowa, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, North Carolina State University, Drake University, Waukesha County Technical College, University of Notre Dame, University of Oklahoma, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Carroll University, and Florida Gulf Coast University. Graduates go on to study in all disciplines including music, education, business, engineering, mathematics, fashion design, and many more.
Music at Martin Luther
Music is a cornerstone of education at Martin Luther High School. With nearly 1/3 of the student body enrolled in a music class or extra-curricular music, opportunities abound for those who choose to participate. Martin Luther High School has two bands, the Varsity and the Symphonic Band both conducted by Jess Kindshi, a graduate of Martin Luther High School and Valparaiso University. Symphonic Band is an audition only band which recently toured to such places like Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and Washington D.C. They play many pieces from different periods and genres which showcase the bands skill and expressive abilities. Some repertoire represents college level music. Small ensembles include Jazz Band, Brass Choir, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Woodwind Ensemble, Sax Choir and Pep Band. Martin Luther also boasts a well known choir program directed by Timothy Franz, comprising four choirs, including a men's and women's choir and two mixed choirs. The top choir, the Concert Choir, has recently toured to New York, California, and Washington D.C. and has performed well at Choir competitions throughout the area. Martin Luther students participate in the District Wisconsin State Music Association Contest in the spring. They are also well represented at the State level competition at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, two students receiving an Exemplary State Soloist Award from the Wisconsin State Music Association. And in 2008, they sent a member of the Symphonic Band (trombone player) to the Wisconsin State Band Camp at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Music classes are also offered consisting of the study of Humanities, Advanced Music, and independent study Music Theory. The Music Computer Lab continues to grow and allows students to take a part in writing music and familiarizing themselves with current music technology such as ACID, Reason, and Sebelius Music Notation Software. Martin Luther High School's music program offers students the opportunity to cultivate their love for music and provides the opportunities to grow in musical skill and performance. Martin Luther High School's music program is also a stepping stone for its graduates going on to make careers in music studying performance, education, history, and management at top music colleges and universities including Luther College, many of the Concordia Colleges, Valparaiso University, the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and St. Olaf College.
