Queens andBrooklyn from a variety of ethnic, religious and academic backgrounds.Academics
In order to graduate students are required to take classes in Business, English, History, Fine Arts, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, and Theology. Where applicable, these academic departments also require completion of appropriate New York State
Regents Examinations . Martin Luther also offers Advanced Placement courses.Extracurricular
Martin Luther offers several extracurricular activities. The school mascot is the Cougar, and the athletics department offers Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country,Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball (girls only), and Wrestling. Students can also join Band, Chorus, and Choir for academic credit. The Drama Club (Troupe #980) is a member of the
International Thespian Society . Students interested in spiritual growth or community service can join the Beatitudes or theKey Club . The school has a newspaper, "The Cougar Chronicle", and a yearbook, "Invictus". Students who perform up to academic standards may be nominated for membership in theNational Honor Society .
