History

In 1995, Northwestern College was moved to New Ulm and combined with Dr. Martin Luther College to form Martin Luther College. In the same year, Martin Luther Preparatory School (MLPS) of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin was closed and combined with NPS to form Luther Preparatory School. As a historical note, MLPS was located on the former campus of Campion High School, a Jesuit preparatory school that was closed in 1975.

Purpose

According to the LPS website, the purpose of Luther Preparatory School is to prepare young men and women to become pastors and teachers for service in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. [Luther Preparatory School Mission and Purpose http://www.lps.wels.net/podium/default.aspx?t=45998]
