Ramona is a town in Lake County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 190 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Ramona is located at coor dms|44|7|12|N|97|13|5|W|city (44.120055, -97.217981)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.7 km²), all of it land.

Ramona has been assigned the ZIP code 57054 and the FIPS place code 52860.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 190 people, 88 households, and 52 families residing in the town. The population density was 705.8 people per square mile (271.7/km²). There were 99 housing units at an average density of 367.8/sq mi (141.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.95% White and 1.05% Asian.

There were 88 households out of which 18.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.3% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% were non-families. 40.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 25.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.00 and the average family size was 2.67.

In the town the population was spread out with 14.2% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 18.9% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 33.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
