Andover is a town in Day County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 99 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Andover is located at coor dms|45|24|38|N|97|54|13|W|city (45.410523, -97.903699)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.7 km²), all of it land.

Andover has been assigned the ZIP code 57422, and the FIPS place code 01500.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 99 people, 46 households, and 23 families residing in the town. The population density was 361.6 people per square mile (141.6/km²). There were 62 housing units at an average density of 226.4/sq mi (88.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White.

There were 46 households out of which 19.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.7% were married couples living together, 2.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 50.0% were non-families. 50.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 30.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.15 and the average family size was 3.26.

In the town the population was spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 2.0% from 18 to 24, 20.2% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 34.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
