census GR|2 of 2000, there were 417 people, 188 households, and 124 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 1,147.4 people per square mile (447.2/km²). There were 201 housing units at an average density of 553.1/sq mi (215.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.52% White, and 0.48% from two or more races.There were 188 households out of which 25.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.7% were married couples living together, 2.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.0% were non-families. 31.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.81.
In the town the population was spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 22.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 88.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.1 males.
