American football coach. He served as head coach atTexas A&M University–Kingsville (formerly Texas A&I University) from 1979-1999.Harms served as
offensive coordinator forGil Steinke in 1974 and '75 before becoming an assistant toGrant Teaff atBaylor University for three years. Harms returned to Texas A&I in 1979 to replaceFred Jonas as head coach. In his first season, he guided the Javelinas to a NAIA national championship.
