Rabindranath Hembram of CPI(M) has won the Kashipur assembly, reserved for scheduled castes, thrice in a row, defeating his nearest rivals Anath Bandhu Patar of All India Trinamool Congress in 2006, Buddheswar Saen of AITC in 2001, Subhas Chandra Patar of Indian National Congress in 1996.
