Plainfield North High School, or PNHS, is a public four-year high school located in Plainfield, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, which also includes Plainfield Central High School, Plainfield South High School and Plainfield East High School.

History

Plainfield North was the third high school to be built in Plainfield, Illinois. It opened in the beginning of the 2005-06 school year for only incoming freshman and sophomores. It will gradually add juniors and seniors and became a four year high school for the 2007-08 school year.

Academics

Plainfield North will begin ACT testing in April 2007, and test results along with the Illinois School Report Card will be available shortly thereafter. Plainfield North will graduate its first class in 2008, upon which graduation rates will be made available.On May 31st, Plainfield North graduated 512 students who became the first ever graduating class of the school.

Athletics

Plainfield North competes in the Southwest Prairie Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the White Tiger. The school's football program (including the head coach, assistant coaches and principal) were sanctioned for violations of Illinois High School Association by-laws in September 2006. Debra Belobraydich and Meghan Hardy qualified as individuals.
