Oxford Park

Oxford Park

Oxford Park,[1] is quoted in international newspaper media, television and radio as Europe's leading sustainable development, and with a GDV[citation needed] of $240,000,000[citation needed]also the largest truly Sustainable development in Europe.,[2] Oxford Park has been compared[where?] to Masdar City but typically understated in European fashion and already permitted and approved since April 2009. The design is more like an eco-village than a huge city and supports nature, freedom and a sustainable lifestyle and business style. It also considers more factors such as job creation, regeneration, local, regional and national government policy, finance and investment, social, economic and environmental factors, among others created using the Oxford 360 degree sustainability Index, a sustainable development methodology.

Oxford Park has been developed by the Oxford Sustainable Group, Europe's principle renewable energy company[citation needed]and sustainable developer with projects in the United Kingdom[citation needed] Scandinavia[citation needed] Finland[citation needed] Estonia, Romania[citation needed] and investment funds listed on Nasdaq OMX[citation needed]and the Channel Islands Stock Exchange CISX[citation needed]

Oxford Park includes a wide range of innovative and sustainable aspects. These include Estonia's 4th largest energy and power unit, provided by an on-site and off-grid biomass cogeneration unit, the first commercial single development Smart Grid, FuelBar, a multiple source fuelling system as well as a variety of other measures. These have been quoted to help improve the lives of Oxford Park residents and reduce residential and business costs by up to 50%.,[3][4]

In the articles listed, Oxford Park has been described as the future of sustainable development in a practical and common sense fashion, rather than the more idealistic visions currently in vogue since it both manages to consider all the relevant stakeholders in the community and synergistic energy and development lifecycles while focusing on practical, cost effective and revenue generating elements.

As of November 2011 the only visible development of the site is a few footpaths and although houses are being offered for sale through property websites there has been no actual commencement of construction.
