One of the leading Kannada fiction writers, Yashwant Vithoba Chittal, born on August 3, 1928 in Hanehalli,
Uttar Kannada District. Although he studied science and technology and subsequently had a career in the field of technology, he pursued a literary craft at the same time. He completed primary school education in Hanehalli and his high school was done inKumta at Gibbs high school (1944).Awards
